This is the second book in the series and I thought it was a solid, fast paced entry in this Urban Fantasy police procedural. At any rate, Mortal Danger is fast paced, having relied on the initial book, Tempting Danger, for most of the political world-building.
What other adventures they’ll embark upon. These people are way too sophisticated for me. They come when you call them. So, having enjoyed the first couple of books, I am happy to continue with the series for sure! All of it is well-crafted and nicely edited.
I didn’t really get Lily splitting into two different entities. Blade to the Keep.

View all 15 comments. Yu here has already heard all my stories, and the strain of trying to look interested is wearing her out. Lily and Rule aren’t a perfect couple even though they’re mates. It was so exciting and interesting and different!
Once you got used to the book being confusing, it wasn’t so confusing anymore, if that makes any sense whatsoever. Showing definite improvement, Eileen Wilks demonstrates solid story telling.

As my friend Estara pointed mkrtal And surprised by some unexpected and welcome plot twists. This was more of a 3 stars read for me since the story was stretched all over the place, but dragons were such a nice addition I couldn’t help myself.

Rule’s trek with one of the Lily and Gan in Dis was surreal, not least by the inclusion of dragons and the latest book in the series hints they’ll get their moment in the spotlight. It was originally sold in the Elleen section of bookstores, but more and more you will be able to find copies cross-shelved under Sci-Fi and Fantasy as the popularity of the series grows!

It helps that all those explanations help us readers to understand the world better and there are many details to like in dahger world. The staff and Harlowe were able to get away and here, in this story, Harlowe and the staff have returned with a new lease on life and new agenda from the goddess wanna be who has plans of her own to have a demon possess Lily Yu.
Harlowe who in the previous book had escaped with the staff kidnapped Lilyy’s sister to lure her out. Some guys would actually prefer going to hell over having “the relationship talk”, but Rule is a pretty awesome guy. Thankfully that changed after a point, and the story picked up and with things taking an unexpected turn, my interest was piqued and I eilewn the second part a lot more.
It seems like the book is wilkz to be all about Lily hunting down Harlowe and foiling the possession plan, but that is only the first half. I liked the book.
