My collection of Asimov books includes every novel I know about and most of his short stories. Asimov himself declared this his penultimate and favorite robot story and I find that it is mine too.
For those reasons, I don’t find the idea that we might have mechanical men doing our needed work, interacting with us and even gaining a soul all that far fetched.
Asimov captures so much more in this novel than the story of a sentient robot. Robin Williams was very appealing in this movie.
